How to get to Ballina Byron

The easiest, and probably cheapest, way to get here is to fly. We have regular daily flights from Sydney with Jetstar, Regional Express (REX) and Virgin. Jetstar also has direct Melbourne (Tullamarine) flights several times a week.

You can also fly into Brisbane (2½ hours) or Coolangatta (1½ hours) airports. From Coolangatta you can get a shuttle bus to Ballina Byron with no trouble . There's less choice coming in from Brisbane, but you can try the Byron Easybus on 6685 8881. It's best to pre book to ensure your seat no matter which airport you are coming in to .

Ballina Byron Gateway Airport is 2kms from Ballina CBD. Click here for news on the airport. The airport is 10 minutes to Lennox Head and about 30 minutes drive north to Byron Bay. Lismore is less than half an hour west, an easy drive along the Bruxner Highway. The Gold Coast theme parks and factory outlet shopping is less than 2 hours away, an hour less during Daylight Saving time!

If you are already in Byron Bay, Lennox Head or Suffolk Park you can easily get to Ballina Byron with a shuttle bus service by Steve's Tours . John and the team will pick you up from your accommodation and bring you to our desk at the airport terminal where we will be ready to meet the next flight. Call us first though, so we can organise a discount and be sure to meet you when you arrive – we'll put your discounted fare on the bill for your rental car. If you rent a car for more than a week we will even shout you the return fare (for one passenger).
